Williamsburg Farmers Market opens 10th season

The Williamsburg Farmers Market will be held from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday, March 31 in Merchants Square, 402 Duke of Gloucester St., Williamsburg.

Live folk and jazz music will be performed. Organizers ask that customers bring small bills to make small purchases easier.

The market is in its 10th year. Nine of the 47 returning vendors have been with the market since 2002. There are five new vendors this year, with others expected to be added.

All vendors raise, harvest, grow and bake the products they sell. Only "value-added" crafts are sold.

More than 38,000 customers shopped at the market last year.
