James City County wins awards
James City County received two awards from the National Association of Counties (NACo).
NACo awarded James City County’s 2009 comprehensive plan, “Historic Past, Sustainable Future,” its 2012 Achievement Award. NACo also awarded the county its 2012 Best Rural Program Award, which recognizes counties with populations of 75,000 and under. Sixteen winners were selected from 592 national entries.
