Fireworks will light the night sky at 9:30 p.m.

The Virginia Symphony Orchestra will be the headliner of Colonial Williamsburg's Fourth of July celebration.

Wednesday's schedule:

~ Salute to the States will be at 10 a.m. behind the courthouse. A special militia will meet to salute the original 13 states with fifes, drums and cannons.
~ The Declaration of Independence will be read at noon at the Capitol. 
~ Fifes and drums will march from the Capitol to the Market Square at 5:30 p.m.
~ The U.S. Air Force Heritage of America Band will perform at 6 p.m. at Market Square.
~ Colonial Williamsburg's fifes and drums perform at 7:45 p.m.
~ The Virginia Symphony Orchestra will perform at 8 p.m. on Palace Green.
~ A fireworks display will begin at 9:30 p.m.

In addition to the performances and shows, guests will be able to meet with Independence Day ambassadors in the area who will be giving out broadsides, answering questions and providing information.
