State senator, delegate appointed to Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation board
A Virginia state senator and a member of the House of Delegates have been named to the Board of Trustees of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, according to a news release.
State Sen. Ryan T. McDougle of Mechanicsville and Delegate Christopher P. Stolle of Virginia Beach will help oversee the agency, which operates Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center history museums and conducts outreach education programs in public schools across the state.
A Republican who represents the Fourth District, McDougle has served in the Virginia Senate since 2006 and is chairman of the Senate Rules Committee, the release states. A member of the House of Delegates from 2002 to 2005, McDougle is a former prosecutor with the Hanover County Commonwealth Attorney's Office now in private practice. He earned his law degree at the College of William and Mary Law School, the release states.
Stolle, a Republican representing the 83rd District, is a medical doctor and retired naval officer, according to the release. Vice president of medical affairs at Riverside Regional Medical Center, he was elected to the House in 2009. In addition to his medical degree, Stolle holds a master’s degree in business administration from the College of William and Mary.
McDougle succeeds Frederick M. Quayle on the board. Stolle succeeds William R. Janis, according to the release.
The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation board is made up of members of the General Assembly, other state officials and gubernatorial and board appointees.
