Williamsburg Planning Commission to hold public hearing on zoning maps
The Williamsburg Planning Commission will hold a public hearing at 3:30 p.m. July 18 to consider new zoning maps.
The hearing will be in the Council Chambers of the Stryker Building, 412 N. Boundary St. Residents are invited to attend the hearing and state their opinions to the commission.
The commission will consider replacing official zoning maps that were revised in 2003 with three new maps, according to the agenda. These new maps are based on the city’s geographic information system, or GIS, mapping system. If approved, the new maps will be forwarded to the City Council for final adoption. The proposed new maps replace maps prepared via AutoCAD, the agenda states.
Map 1 shows zoning districts, Map 2 shows architectural review districts and Map 3 shows archaeological review districts. The Chesapeake Bay preservation district map will be deleted as an official zoning map, according to the agenda.
The new maps do not change the zoning of individual properties, the agenda also states.
