Richard Costello win homebuilders group's associate of the year award

The Homebuilders Association of Virginia has awarded its associate of the year award to a local consulting engineer.

Richard A. Costello is the president of AES Consulting Engineers, which has offices in Gloucester and Williamsburg. He received the statewide recognition for his contributions to the stated legislative committee. HBAV reviews every bill introduced to the state Legislature, identifies those which affect the state’s housing climate and directly lobbies legislators for their passage or defeat.

Costello has worked in the industry for more than 35 years. His background includes construction administration and his duties at AES, a multidisciplinary civil engineering company.

He received his Bachelors of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Delaware in 1976 and earned his license in professional engineering in 1982.

His work includes the Williamsburg Pottery marketplace.
