Williamsburg announces open firefighter-EMS position

Williamsburg is looking for a new worker to join its 24-hour team of fire-protection and emergency medical services providers, according to a Williamsburg news release.

In addition to medical care and firefighting duties, the job's responsibilities include care and maintenance of vehicles and fire prevention activities. Those who haven't already completed work at either the Tidewater Regional Fire Academy or Southside Regional Fire Academy will be required to do so, according to the release.

Certifications preferred include EMT-P, EMT-I, and EMT-B. A current Virginia driver's license or the ability to attain one, as well as a high school diploma, are also required, according to the release.

The starting salary is $35,776 (plus $5,200 per year for paramedic or $ 2,500 per year for Intermediate), with benefits package.
