Tribe women's lacrosse team announces 2012-13 recruiting class

The William and Mary women's lacrosse team will have seven new players for the 2013 season.

The class includes six midfielders and one goalie. Zoe Boger, Campbell Collier, Meredith Crizer, Michelle Goss, Kelly Martins, Catherine Shaughnessy and Courtney Taylor make up the class.

"We are excited to have this class join our Tribe family this fall," William and Mary head coach Brooke Ireland stated in a release. "This class brings a competitive spirit, and we are looking forward to the many contributions their talent will bring to the program over the next four years."

Boger is a midfielder from Atlanta. She played at Roswell High School and was an All-American in 2011 and 2012. Boger was also part of the Georgia National Team for three consecutive years. As a senior, Boger scored 80 goals and dished out 20 assists. She also came through with 42 ground balls. Boger is the daughter of Bentley and Beth Boger.

Collier is a midfielder from Fairfax Station. She played lacrosse at Robinson Secondary School and was a four-year letterwinner. Collier was also a three-time All-Concord District pick. In 2010, Collier was named an Under Armour Underclass All-American All-Star. A year earlier, Collier played in the U-15 national tournament and helped her team win a silver medal. She helped her high school team reach the state tournament in 2009 as well. Collier is the daughter of Chris and Sally Collier.

Crizer is a four-year letterwinner at goalie from George C. Marshall High School in Dunn Loring. Crizer was a first-team all-district selection and a second-team all-region honors as a senior. Crizer tallied 142 saves in 2012 and was her team's defensive MVP as a junior and senior. She finished her career with 384 saves and had a career goals against average of 9.4 goals per game. Crizer is the daughter of Scott Crizer and Marie Buchwalter.

Midfielder Goss hails from Kellenberg Memorial High School in Massapequa, N.Y. She was an all-league selection in 2011 and scored 38 goals while dishing out 10 assists as a senior. Goss was the most improved player on her team in 2009 and earned two letters during her lacrosse career. She was also a state qualifier in swimming as a senior. Goss is the daughter of Bradley and Mary Goss.

Martins is a midfielder from Langley High School in McLean. Martins was an All-American as a senior and was invited to the U.S. Lacrosse Champion All-American Showcase in 2012. She helped her team finish as the state runner-up while earning all-district (first team) and all-region (second team) honors. During her sophomore season, Martins helped Langley win district and region championships. She earned a spot on the all-district team as well. Martins also placed 11th in the pole vault at the state indoor meet in 2012. Martins is the daughter of John and Karen Martins.

Shaughnessy played her high school lacrosse at Great Valley in Paoli, Pa. The midfielder was a four-year letterwinner and earned honorable mention All-American honors as a senior. She played on two unbeaten ChesMont League championship teams and helped lead Great Valley to the semifinals of the state tournament in 2011. Shaughnessy was also named the Al Como Award winner at Great Valley. She also qualified for the state swim meet four times and earned All-American honors twice. Shaughnessy is the daughter of Jim and Patty Shaughnessy.

Taylor is a midfielder from Ursuline Academy in Dallas. She was a two-time team captain and was an all-state selection as a junior. Taylor also earned a spot on the Dallas Morning News All-Area team in 2011. She is the daughter of Tim and Kathy Taylor.
