Free parenting programs offered to Williamsburg residents

The Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters will host three free parenting classes in August.

Baby Care 101 is scheduled from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Pediatric Association of Williamsburg. The class is for expecting and new parents. It will cover how to create a safe environment for babies, how to bathe and comfort babies, proper belly button and diaper care, proper sleeping positions and other safety tips. Parents are encouraged to ask questions.

Infant massage will be discussed from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16 at the Pediatric Association of Williamsburg. The class will teach new and expecting parents massage techniques for children up to 6 months.

Breastfeeding advice will be given from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Pediatric Association of Williamsburg. The class will include a discussion of the advantages of breastfeeding, proper positioning, latch-on tips, returning to work and more.

All classes are free to attend.
