DJ Montague Elementary School releases first-grade supply list

DJ Montague Elementary School released its list of required and optional supplies for first-grade students for the 2012-2013 school year.

Required items include:
Three composition notebooks, one box of washable markers, one pair of child-size scissors, one box of crayons, 12 No. 2 pencils, one pack of watercolors, a pencil box or pouch, three large bottles of glue, three two-pocket folders (no binders), one pack of dry erase markers and six glue sticks.

Supplies may need to be replenished during the school year. A reminder will be sent home.

Items on the following list are optional. Donations of the items to the school are appreciated:
Colorful copy paper, quart- and gallon-size zipper bags, bottles of glue, glue sticks, No. 2 pencils, scissors, pump soap and refills, brown or white paper bags, disinfecting wipes, spoons and forks, and paper plates, cups and bowls.

Parents should bring all supplies to the school's open house from 4-6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 30.

The school asks parents to please not write their child's name on the items.

Special projects during the school year may require additional supplies. Teacher's will send letters to request donations.

The school year for Williamsburg-James City County Schools begins Tuesday, Sept. 4.
