Williamsburg Lois S. Hornsby Middle School announces athletics tryouts
Tryouts for the girls basketball, field hockey and cheerleading for Williamsburg Lois S. Hornsby Middle School have been set.
All students should have a completed physical and parental consent form on file with Athletic Director Leslie King dated after May 1 to try out for any of the sports. The forms can be downloaded at the school's website at wjcc.k12.va.us/hms/athletics/index.html.
Tryouts for the Hornsby Hawks girls basketball team are set for 3:30-5:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27 through Wednesday, Aug. 29. Open gym, or pretryout workouts, are scheduled for the same time the week of Aug. 20. For more information, contact coach J. Oweis at oweisj@wjcc.k12.va.us.
Field hockey tryouts at Hornsby Athletic Field are scheduled for 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 27 through Thursday, Aug. 30. No prior playing experience is required. An open gym and mini camp is scheduled from 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 20 through Thursday, Aug. 23 to review drills, skills, rule and conditioning.
