Williamsburg Regional Library announces Aug. 7-10 event schedule

Activities are available for children and adults this week at the Williamsburg Regional Library.

Youth services will host an All Ages Storytime at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, with the Early Childhood Music School as guests. Also today is a Basic Internet 2 Class for adults from 1-3:30 p.m. in Room B. Registration is needed for this class and can be made by contacting 757-259-7720.

At 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8, Youth Services will host the Story Lady at the James City County Room of the Kitzinger Community Room. Her program for the day is titled Dream Big. Following the event at 2 p.m., the library will screen the 1944 movie "Dragon Seed" starring Katharine Hepburn and based on the book by Pearl S. Buck in the library's theater.

A Basic Computer Class is scheduled from 2-3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, at Room B. Registration is needed for this class and can be made by contacting 757-259-7720.

The Panglossian Productions performance "'night, Mother" starring Abigail Schumann and Stacy Hasselbacher will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at the theater. The play was written by "The Color Purple" author Marsha Normam and tells the story of a mother's dilemma when her daughter tells her that she will end her life before morning.

Cost for this stage play is $16 for adults, $14 for students, seniors and Friends of the Library members, and $9 for those under age 16. Future performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11 and 2 p.m.  Sunday, Aug. 12. Tickets can be purchased at the door, by calling 757-259-4070 or online at www.panglossian.org/.
