Computer, electronics recycling event to be held Aug. 11

The Virginia Peninsula Public Service Authority will hold a computer and electronics recycling event from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 11.

Items accepted at the event include computers, monitors, mice, toner and ink cartridges, keyboards, printers, scanners, fax machines, servers, personal digital assistants, telephones, cameras, stereo equipment, office equipment, portable radios, DVD players, VCRs, CDs, VHS tapes, DVDs, laptops, gaming consoles, AC adapters, power cables, network cables, docking stations, household batteries, cell phones, copiers, tape players, mp3 players, microwaves, jump drives, video games, video game consoles and miscellaneous household electronics.

VPPSA is a regional governmental agency that helps communities to solve solid waste management needs. The agency serves Hampton, James City County, Poquoson, Williamsburg and York County on the Peninsula and Essex, King William, King, Queen, Mathews and Middlesex on the Middle Peninsula.

The event takes place at Lafayette High School, located at 4460 Longhill Road, in Williamsburg.
