Hare and Tortoise 8K run/walk to be held Sept. 8

The Hare and Tortoise New Quarter Park 8K Run/Walk will be held on Saturday, Sept. 8.

The money raised from the event will fund grants to medical service providers for screening, testing and treatment of ovarian cancer.

A one-mile fun run/walk will begin at 8:30 a.m., followed by the 8K run/walk at 9 a.m. Registration and packet pick-up will begin at 7:45 a.m. on the day of the race.

The cost to register is $25 if paid by Wednesday, Aug. 29, and $30 afterward. T-shirts are guaranteed for the first 200 people who register.

Checks can be made out to the Williamsburg Community Foundation, and registration forms can be mailed to Williamsburg Community Foundation, Attn: Karene O'Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Run, P.O. Box 2821, Williamsburg, VA 23187.
