Williamsburg Parks and Rec accepting adult fall softball registration

The Williamsburg Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registration for its adult fall softball leagues through Friday, Aug. 24.

Leagues are offered for men and women 17 years of age and older, according to the city website. The department hosts a variety of leagues based on competitiveness and the skill levels of each team.

Registration will be available at the Quarterpath Park and Recreation Center, 2020 Quarterpath Road, in Williamsburg. The registration fee is $300 per team for teams that are returning from the spring 2012 season, and $320 for new teams this fall.

All games will be played at Quarterpath Park with umpires and scorekeepers, according to the site. Games are typically played from 6:15-10:15 p.m. Monday through Friday.

A coaches meeting will be held 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4, according to city site. Teams will not be allowed to change or adjust their rosters after Monday, Oct. 1.

Teams are also responsible for providing their own balls.
