Grove Christian Outreach Center invites public to groundbreaking celebration

The Grove Christian Outreach Center is hosting a public event for the groundbreaking of its new building 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9.

The new facility is being built at 8910 Pocahontas Trail. The center has raised over $1 million to begin construction of the new building, which will include a kitchen, storage room and new fence around the property.

Parking for the groundbreaking event will be available near the back of the current building. Light refreshments will be provided.

According to its website, Grove Christian Outreach Center was established in February 2000 to provide support for less fortunate community members. Over 100 volunteers help maintain programs and services at the center each month.

Pat McCormick serves as executive director of the center, and Deena Walls is the assistant director. Courthouse Construction Inc., is managing the construction site for the new building.
