Recovery Rocks 5K Run to be held Aug. 25

York River State Park will host the Recovery Rocks 5K beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25.

The event, held in partnership with Colonial Roadrunners, will benefit the Friends of York River State Park and the Spirit Works Foundation. A one-mile fun run/walk will begin at 8 a.m. with the 5K run and 5K walk starting at 8:30 a.m.

T-shirts will be provided to the first 500 individuals who register. Door prizes will be awarded, and awards will be given to the top finishers in several categories.

Preregistration costs $20 and runs through Saturday, Aug. 18. Registration forms can be found at colonialroadrunners.org/2012recoveryrocks5kflyer.pdf. Individuals may also register from 7-8:15 a.m. on race day for $25.

York River State Park is located on Park Road off of Riverview Road in Stonehouse. The Virginia State Parks are managed by the Virginia Department of Conservation and Recreation.
