Williamsburg police investigate Aug. 16 robbery

Williamsburg police are investigating a robbery that reportedly happened around 1:30 a.m. Aug. 16 in the 900 block of Richmond Road, according to a police press release.

A man told police that someone approached and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at him as he was walking. The man with the gun, according to the alleged victim, then ordered him to give him money. After getting the cash, the robber ran from the scene in an unknown direction.

The alleged victim then left the scene and called police.

The robber was described as a white man who was six feet one inch tall and wore a long-sleeve, dark colored shirt and khaki pants. No one was hurt during the robbery.
