Karene O'Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Fund donates $12K grant to Lackey Free Clinic

The Karene O'Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Fund recently donated a $12,000 grant to the Lackey Free Clinic.

According to a press release, the funding will be used for screening, testing and treating ovarian cancer.

The Lackey Free Clinic, 1620 Old Williamsburg Road, Yorktown, offers medical, dental and mental health care, in addition to prescriptions for uninsured individuals at or below the 200 percent federal poverty level.

Karene O'Hare Ovarian Cancer Memorial Fund, a component fund of the Williamsburg Community Foundation, raises money through the annual Hare and Tortoise 8K Run/Walk. This year's run will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 8 at New Quarter Park, 1000 Lakeshead Drive, Williamsburg.
