12 Williamsburg runners complete 12th Annual Armed Services YMCA Mud Run

Twelve runners from Williamsburg completed the 12th Annual Armed Services YMCA Mud Run on Aug. 11 in Norfolk.

The Williamsburg runners were: Brian McManus, 16, (39:10); Joe Harris, 32, (47:15); James Callis, 34, (48:49); Chase Harper, 19, (51:28); Katherine Harper, 21, (54:43); Stephanie Ruane, 17, (57:26); Kevin Harper, 59, (59:07); Harry Buser, 46, (1:07:52); Kristina Whitley, 33, (1:08:42); Meg Carper, 19, (1:09:57); Desmond Wright, 36, (1:14:09); and Kourtney Micheli, 27, (1:21:32).

A total of 2,764 runners finished the 8K run, which started on the beach at Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek and Fort Story. Obstacles included in the race included low crawling, a 5-foot wall, and a series of beach barricades and mud pits.

Sean Trombly of Virginia Beach was the men's overall winner with a time of 31:40. Yoko England of Norfolk won the women's division in 38:32.
