YEP of Williamsburg announces upcoming event, program schedule

The Young Emerging Professionals of Williamsburg have announced their upcoming events and program schedule for September and October.

The events are open to established and prospective YEP members who are seeking to network and socialize with other local business people and volunteer in the local community.

The Strictly Business Networking event hosted by Hometown Radio and wydaily.com is set for 5:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12 at the Kingsmill Resort, 1010 Kingsmill Road, Williamsburg. The event will feature food, drinks, door prizes and more.

The Williamsburg Kiwanis Shrimp Feast will be held from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15 at the 4H Camp, 4H Club Road, Williamsburg. The annual event features an all-you-can-eat shrimp dinner and unlimited beer. Tickets are $25 per person. For tickets of more information, visit williamsburgkiwanis.org/shrimpfeat-tickets.htm.

YEP members who are interested in volunteering for the event can serve at the YEP event information booth from 3:30-5:30 p.m. or 5:30-7:30 p.m. Volunteers will receive free tickets to the meal. For more information, visit yepofwilliamsburg.com/events/.

The Chamber of Commerce's Business After Hours is set for 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19 at GoKarts Plus. Attendees will have an opportunity to network with Chamber members. The cost to attend is $10 per person and a business card for each attendee. YEP members who have paid their dues will receive free admission. Reservations are required to attend. The William and Mary Football Tailgate event will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22 at the Crim Dell Parking Lot. YEP members will tailgate before the William and Mary game against Delaware.

The YEP September Meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25 at Towne Bank. More details will be available by visiting the YEP website.

The Williamsburg Gallery Crawl is set for 5-11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4. Participants will tour eight art galleries throughout Williamsburg on deluxe chartered buses. YEP is seeking 25 volunteers to work two three-hour shifts during the event. Volunteers will receive free admission for the event. To volunteer, visit yepofwilliamsburg.com/events.

The Capital Trail Clean-up is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the Jamestown Visitor's Center. Participants will restore a mile of the Capital Trail adopted by YEP.

The Shelter Project will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13 at the Jamestown Visitor's Center. Volunteers will wash and stain a new shelter structure at the Visitor's Center.

The YEP October Meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17 at Towne Bank. The meeting will feature a presentation by the nonprofit organization Beyond Boobs in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Following the meeting, YEP will meet for a social at Hooters.
