First-time homebuyer class to be held Aug. 21, 23

The James City County Office of Housing and Community Development is hosting a class for first-time homebuyers from 6-9 p.m. Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 23 at the Parks and Recreation Administration Building.

According to the James City County website, class topics will include personal finances, credit and credit scoring, the loan application process, choosing the right home and loan closing.

Many mortgage companies require first-time homebuyers to complete a class prior to loan approval, according to the site. Attendees of both sessions will receive a certification of completion.
