James City County Police Dept. to hold free firearm safety course Aug. 22
Citizens who would like to learn more about firearms can attend a free class for adults offered by the James City County Police Department.
The class will cover basic safety, handling and storage. It will not include hands-on training. Personal firearms should be left at home. The free safety class will be held from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22 at the Law Enforcement Center, 4600 Opportunity Way, Williamsburg.
Registration is required as the class size is limited. For more information or to register, call 757-603-6026.
Class materials and gunlocks were purchased using grant funding from the National Rifle Association Foundation and Project ChildSafe. Free gunlocks are available at the class or by calling 757-603-6022.
