Williamsburg to host Big Dawg tennis tournaments

The Williamsburg Parks and Recreation Department will host the Big Dawg 10s Shootout Series tennis tournament beginning Saturday, Sept. 22.    The tournament is open to all players 12 years or older and features singles and doubles formats, according to the parks department website. Matches will be played from 2:30-5 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 17.   Registration is $20 per player for the singles' tournament and $30 per team for the doubles' tournament. The singles' tournament is open to men and women, while the doubles' tournament can be coed teams.   Each participant is guaranteed at least two matches and wards will be given to tournament champions and finalists.   The tournament will be held on the tennis courts at Kiwanis Municipal Park on Longhill Road.    To register, contact the parks department at 757-259-3760.
