Terry continues to roll after win in York River State Park 5K
Karen Terry has extended her lead in the Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix with a win at the York River State Park Recovery Rocks 5K on Aug. 25. Terry, a resident of Newport News, is the YRSP 5K defending champion in the women's 20 to 24 division. This year saw her break her personal best winning time by six seconds to finish in 19:29. Mercedes Castillo-D'Amico, also from Newport News, was the runner-up at the event with a time of 20:51. The Colonial Road Runners Grand Prix has totaled 11 races so far. Terry leads the women with a score of 68. Castillo-D'Amico is behind her with a score of 57. For more information on the Grand Prix, visit colonialroadrunners.org.
