Bruton football travels to Smithfield on Sept. 7
Bruton High School's football team will square off against Smithfield on Friday, Sept. 7 in a 7 p.m. road game.
Bruton crushed Greensville County 43-20 in its opener Aug. 24. The Panthers trailed 14-3 at the end of the first quarter but took control the rest of the way.
Kapri Doucet rushed for three touchdowns to lead the way in the win. Bruton rolled up 263 yards of offense.
Smithfield dominated in its opener Aug. 31, taking down Southampton 34-7.
The Packers churned out 441 yards of offense. Jermaal Wells threw for two TDs and ran for two more scores to lead the way for Smithfield.
The Panthers will play against Lafayette on Friday, Sept. 14 and will play against Grafton on Friday, Sept. 21. They take on Warhill on the road on Friday, Sept. 28.
Smithfield will play at Jamestown on Friday, Sept. 14 and will take on Lafayette on Friday, Sept. 21. The Packers play against York on Friday, Sept. 28.
All games will begin at 7 p.m.
