Jamestown football seeks first win against Tabb

Both the Jamestown High School Eagles and the Tabb High School Tigers football teams will be gunning for their first win of the season at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 in Yorktown.

The contest will be the AA Bay Rivers league opener for both schools.

The Tigers (0-1) have had two weeks to soothe the sting of a 44-6 defeat at the hands of the Monroe High School Yellow Jackets on Aug. 24. The Eagles (0-1) are trying to even their record after coming up short in overtime in their home opener against Park View High School, 34-28, on Aug. 31 at Wanner Stadium.

Tabb will continue with league play when it travels to Bailey Field to take on York High School on Friday, Sept. 14, and to Cooley Field in Poquoson on Friday, Sept. 21, before hosting New Kent High School on Friday, Sept. 28. Each contest will start at 7 p.m.

Jamestown will host Smithfield High School on Friday, Sept. 14; travel to York on Friday, Sept. 21; and host Poquoson on Friday, Sept. 28. All three contests will kick off at 7 p.m. and are league games.
