Jamestown football scores a win over Tabb

Jamestown High School's football team put on a strong offensive showing, defeating Tabb 23-12 on Sept. 7 at Bailey Field.

The Tigers only trailed 3-0 at halftime after Cody Miller hit a field goal from 27 yards out with two seconds to play in the half.

Rushing touchdowns by Davion Turner and Stas Szczepanski helped push the Jamestown lead to 16-0. Alex Peck added the final TD of the night for Jamestown.

Brett Hinson ran more than 100 yards for the second consecutive game for Tabb, rushing for 105 yards and a TD.

Szczepanski led the Jamestown rushing attack with 116 yards. Turner tallied 86 yards and Peck finished with 63 yards.

Tabb is 0-2 on the season while Jamestown is now 1-1.

The Tigers will play at York on Friday, Sept. 14 and will play at Poquoson on Friday, Sept. 21. The team hosts New Kent on Friday, Sept. 28.

The Eagles will play host to Smithfield on Friday, Sept. 14 and will play at York on Friday, Sept. 21. They will take on Poquoson on Friday, Sept. 28. All games will begin at 7 p.m.
