Williamsburg City Council announces schedule for public workshops

The Williamsburg City Council will offer the 2013-14 Goals, Initiatives and Outcomes workshop from 7:30-9 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20 at the Williamsburg Community Building.

Residents are invited to provide council members with input regarding goals they believe the city should focus on for the next two years and beyond. The council meets every two years to identify new strategic objectives for city government and sort out its priorities. This workshop will offer residents an opportunity to weigh in before the council adopts the 2013-14 GIO in November.

The council will also be meeting with the Planning Commission and Economic Development Authority before November.

The city of Williamsburg has more than 14,000 residents. Located on the Virginia Peninsula in the northern part of the Hampton Roads metropolitan area, it is home to Colonial Williamsburg, a restored historical area, as well as the College of William and Mary.
