Jamestown football to face Smithfield at home

Jamestown High School will square off against Smithfield in a Bay Rivers District game at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14.

The Eagles rolled to a 23-12 win over Tabb on Sept. 7. They kept the Tigers off the scoreboard for three quarters and were paced offensively by Stas Szczepanski, Davion Turner and Alex Peck.

Szczepanski rushed for 116 yards, while Turner churned out 86 yards. Peck tallied 63 yards as Lee Williams won his first game as the head coach of Jamestown. The Eagles are 1-1 overall and 1-0 in district play.

Smithfield defeated Bruton 12-0 in its district opener. The Packers rolled up 343 yards on the ground.

Jermaal Wells threw a touchdown pass to James Green and Najai Williams scored the other touchdown. Williams rushed for 114 yards. The Packers are 2-0 overall and 1-0 in the district.

Jamestown will play at York on Friday, Sept. 21 and will play Poquoson on Friday, Sept. 28. The Eagles will play at New Kent on Friday, Oct. 5. All three games will begin at 7 p.m.

Smithfield will play Lafayette on Friday, Sept. 21 and will play York on Friday, Sept. 28. The Packers will play at Grafton on Friday, Oct. 5. All three games will begin at 7 p.m.
