Jamestown football looking to rebound against York

Jamestown High School's football team will face York at 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 in a Bay Rivers District tilt.

The Falcons are 3-0 overall and 2-0 in district play after edging Tabb 14-7 on Sept. 14.

Devin Campbell secured the win when he picked off a pass with 40 seconds to play.

Tywaun Lewis sprinted 69 yards for the first York touchdown and took the lead for good on a 12-yard run by Marcus Wakelyn. The Falcons rolled up 221 yards on the ground and 67 yards through the air. Tabb was limited to 163 rushing yards and 33 passing yards.

Jamestown was beaten 28-18 by Smithfield on Sept. 14, despite recovering three fumbles in the second half. The Eagles fell to 1-2 overall and to 1-1 in the district.

Jamestown scored TDs on Tyler Doane's 6-yard pass to Mike Mason and on Doane's 20-yard run. Doane threw for 125 yards in the game.

York will play at Smithfield on Friday, Sept. 28 in a 7 p.m. game and wil play at Poquoson on Friday, Oct. 5 in a 7 p.m. tilt.

Jamestown will play host to Poquoson on Friday, Sept. 28 and will travel to New Kent on Friday, Oct. 5. The Eagles will play host to Bruton on Friday, Oct. 12. All three games will begin at 7 p.m.
