College of William & Mary women's soccer beats Hofstra

The College of William and Mary women's soccer team defeated Hofstra, 3-2 in double-overtime Oct. 21 at Martin Family Stadium at Albert-Daly Field.

Seniors Cortlyn Bristol and Mallory Schaffer lifted the Tribe past the Pride, with Schaffer scoring the goal to send the game into overtime and Bristol hitting the game-winner.

The College of William and Mary is now 13-5 overall and 7-2 in conference. They next play in their last game of the regular season at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24 against Old Dominion.

The College of William and Mary is a state-supported, coeducational liberal arts institution with an enrollment of 6,071 undergraduate and 2,129 graduate students. Its main campus is set on 1,200 acres in downtown Williamsburg with other campuses in Gloucester Point and Washington, D.C. The college was chartered Feb. 8, 1693, by King William III and Queen Mary II of England. It is the second oldest college in America.
