Smithfield to host Kent in varsity football action

The Smithfield Packers will host the New Kent Trojans in an AA Bay Rivers varsity football game at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 26.

Smithfield is 8-1 (7-1 in conference play) on the season after defeating Warhill 42-7 on the road Oct. 19. Clark Harrell is the coach of the Packers.

New Kent is 0-8 (0-7 in conference play) on the season, losing 48-20 at home to Poquoson on Oct. 19. Dan Rounds is the coach of the Trojans.

Up next, Smithfield will remain at home and play Tabb at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. New Kent will next play at home against Bruton at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2.
