Montrose Christian School alumnus Justin Anderson recorded one assist and one block for the University of Virginia in a 46-38 win at home against Tennessee on Dec. 5, according to the University of Virginia's website.

The University of Virginia Cavaliers improved to 7-2 on the season. Their next game is 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at home against Mississippi Valley State.

Anderson is a freshman guard for the University of Virginia. He is a 2012 graduate of Montrose Christian School in Rockville, where he was Gatorade Maryland Boys Basketball Player of the Year as a senior. Anderson also earned first-team Washington Post All-Metropolitan honors for 2011-12 and was named Most Outstanding Player of the Iolani Classic in Hawaii in December 2011. The Montross native is the son of Edward and Kim Anderson.
