James City County offers Christmas tree recycling options
Officials in James City County remind residents that Christmas trees can be recycled within the community.
Ornaments, tinsel and stand must be removed from the tree prior to dropping it off.
According to a city release, the trees can be dropped off at the James City County convenience centers. A facility at 1204 Jolly Pond Road, Williamsburg, is open daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Also, there is a facility at 107 Tewning Road, Williamsburg, which is open from 8 a.m. to noon, Mondays; and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Saturdays.
Trees can also be unloaded at Hankins Industrial Park at 185 Industrial Blvd.
The dates to drop off the trees are Mondays, Jan. 7 and Jan. 14.
