Warhill grad Speed helps Christopher Newport remain unbeaten
Warhill High School graduate Brittany Speed played for Christopher Newport in its 60-24 win over conference rival Mary Baldwin on Wednesday, Jan. 9, at Mary Baldwin College in Staunton, the Christopher Newport website reported.
Speed recorded one rebound as the undefeated Captains won their 12th consecutive game to improve to 12-0 on the season and 5-0 in the USA South.
Christopher Newport's next game is 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 12 at Averett University.
Brittany Speed is a sophomore guard for Christopher Newport University. She is a 2011 graduate of Warhill High School in Williamsburg. It was at Warhill High School where Speed set the school record for most three-pointers made in a game with eight. Speed is a chemistry major from Williamsburg. She is the daughter of Terry and Kathleen Speed.
