Warhill grad Speed contributes to Christopher Newport victory

Warhill High School graduate Brittany Speed played for Christopher Newport University in its 65-53 win at home against conference rival Greensboro College on Feb. 9 at the Freeman Center in Newport News, the team's website reported.

Speed helped the Captains improve to 20-2 on the season and 13-2 in the USA South Athletic Conference.

Christopher Newport's next game is 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at home against Mary Baldwin College.

Brittany Speed is a sophomore guard for Christopher Newport University. She is a 2011 graduate of Warhill High School in Williamsburg. It was at Warhill High School where Speed set the school record for most three-pointers made in a game with eight. Speed is a chemistry major from Williamsburg. She is the daughter of Terry and Kathleen Speed.
