Lafayette grad Crew helps in Wesleyan victory

Lafayette High School graduate Art Crew played for Virginia Wesleyan College in a 70-62 win over conference rival Guilford College on Feb. 9 at Brown Field House in Greensboro, N.C., the Wesleyan website reported.

Crew recorded one rebound and an assist for the Marlins, who improved to 17-6 on the season and 12-2 in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Virginia Wesleyan College's next game is 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at Hampden-Sydney College.

Crew is a senior guard for Virginia Wesleyan College. He is a 2009 graduate of Lafayette High School, where he was 2007-2008 Virginia Group AA All-State first team honoree and 2008 Virginia Gazette Player of the Year. The Williamsburg native, an accounting major, is the son of Arthur and Pamela Crew.
